Plot
A man, dealing with the issues of a divorce, takes his wife and their teenage children down a memory lane. Writer/director Florent Bernard had seen many films about parental separation and realized that they were either comedies or dramas, of which there were very few. Furthermore, the film was always presented from the parents’ point of view, never from the children’s, so he wanted to approach this subject in a bittersweet comedy with nostalgia and funny scenes, fully involving the children in the story. During the breakfast scene at the beginning of the film, Sandrine’s children look at the bowl of cereal in front of them in one shot, and then suddenly at their mother, who is standing to the side, in the next.
